Palm Bay Caribe Film Festival is a BCASCA Signature Event, in celebration of Caribbean Heritage month. The event is a partnership between BarriVision Films and Brevard Caribbean American Sports and Cultural Association (BCASCA)
The three-day festival is a celebration of Caribbean films that will feature:
- screenings of Caribbean films of varying lengths mainly at BCASCA
- Red Carpet opening night at BCASCA club
- Satellite screenings at a college/city venue or library
- Meet and greet with Filmmakers
The Criteria for submissions include any one or combination of the following:
- made by Caribbean nationals (in any language with subtitles if not English)
- made in the Caribbean
- about the Caribbean
- starring Caribbean actors
Categories are: Mini, Short, Middy, Feature, Documentary and Animation.
FAMILY FRIENDLY
Although all films are welcome, preference will be given to family friendly films. FILMS WITH EXCESSIVE VIOLENCE, EXPLICIT SEXUAL SITUATIONS, MISOGYNY OR IMAGES DEEMED DEEPLY DISTURBING TO THE PUBLIC WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
WHAT TO EXPECT
The three-day festival begins with a RED CARPET welcome party and continues on with screenings of short films, feature films and documentaries from around the world, that tell Caribbean stories, were filmed in the Caribbean, produced by Caribbean nationals or descendants and/or star Caribbean actors.
On Awards Night, we will have winners in all categories plus a special award for Best Female Director/Filmmaker.
