Mixed Up Celebrates One Year Anniversary with Special Screenings

Port of Spain, June 25, 2024: On June 27th 2023, the Trinidad and Tobago Film Company (FilmTT) rolled out the Red Carpet for the exclusive viewing of the pilot episode of the Mixed Up tv series at IMAX in One Woodbrook Place. The event, marking a historical moment in our TV and film history, was an affair to remember. Now, to celebrate the one-year anniversary, FilmTT, in collaboration with SGP Studios, presents ‘Mixed Up in June’, a three-day promotional event aimed at showcasing the TV Series Mixed Up. The screenings will take place at Caribbean Cinemas South Park and Trincity locations on June 28th – 30th. The ticket costs $40TTD and all the funds will go back towards other film industry capacity development initiatives.

The event not only serves as a celebration but also as a promotional platform for the local film industry and its related content. The event aims to showcase local content, directors, producers, actors and crew to industry professionals, potential investors and the wider public, thereby contributing to Trinidad and Tobago’s presence in the global film industry.

Mixed Up is about a mixed family of an IndoTrinidaian wife and AfroTrinidadian husband and their three children must navigate contemporary family life in Trinidad and Tobago against the sometimes-overbearing influence of their respective conservative mothers. The cast, which was carefully selected by the Trinidad and Tobago Performance Arts Network, comprises of Penelope Spencer, Patti-Anne Ali, Kirsten Wilson, Jarlon George, Kevon Brooks, Bridget Rampersad, Serran Clarke and Keshala Mahabir. Directing alongside the series’ Showrunner, Richard Ragoobarsingh, is local producer/filmmaker, Nigel Thompson.
