Mauricia De Peza & Wadada Movement nominated for Award at 2017 Caribbean Style & Culture Awards

Trinidad and Tobago model Mauricia De Peza and twin fashion designers, Asha and Ayanna Diaz, will bring their talents to the 8th annual Caribbean Style and Culture Showcase on June 17. 

In the heart of Downtown Silver Spring, Maryland, USA, this fashion exhibition will be held at the Silver Spring Civic Center. Caribbean Style and Culture is a showcase of fashion, music and art. Respectfully held in June to commemorate National Caribbean American Heritage Month, this multifaceted event is set to be exciting and full of stylish trends to amaze the world.
Pioneering fashion designers Asha and Ayanna will be awarded the Caribbean Style & Culture — “Award Of Excellence, Fashion Innovation” for their excellence and remarkable contribution to the Caribbean’s rich culture and the burgeoning fashion industry. Amongst 12 designers participating in the runway presentation, the twin sisters are being nominated for their outstanding fashion contributions. Their clothing line, Wadada Movement, derives from the Ahmaric word meaning “Love”. Fused in cultured royalty and bohemian chic looks, their design ambience has influences from their personal travel throughout the Caribbean, Europe and Africa.
