Source: FILMCO Newsletter

Hello!  We’re FILMCO.

Greetings filmmakers,
We’re writing to introduce you to FILMCO: the Filmmakers Collaborative of Trinidad and Tobago.  FILMCO is a new non-profit organisation, dedicated to creating a sustainable ecosystem for film and television producers and directors in Trinidad and Tobago and the wider Caribbean.

FILMCO was founded by four industry professionals who share a deep commitment to developing our industry in a fair and equitable way: Dion Boucaud, Mariel Brown, Danielle Dieffenthaller and Lesley-Anne Macfarlane.

Our core objectives are:
1. To propose and develop strategic, innovative and sustainable distribution models within Trinidad and Tobago and the wider Caribbean.
2. To foster an environment for ongoing professional development through education and training opportunities for our members.
3. To actively negotiate for the overall financial well-being of our membership.
4. To represent, lobby, agitate and actively defend the most viable ecosystem for all our members.
5. To curate an active database of audio/ visual content developed around the region.

We want you!

FILMCO was founded by a group of committed filmmakers who want to make positive changes to the local and regional film and television industries.  Now we’d like to invite you to become a member of FILMCO, so that we can send a strong message of solidarity and support for our collective work, and start working towards developing a more supportive environment in which we can all work and thrive.

Please have a look at our membership levels, and some of the benefits you will be able to derive from being a member of FILMCO.  Our plan is to have our full website up running and to be able to offer group health insurance by July 2017.

Now we want to hear from you!  Drop us an e mail at filmcott@gmail.com if you have any questions or concerns, or if you’d like to become a member of FILMCO right away!  (We’re hoping you’ll e mail to say, sign me up now!)  You can also join our facebook page here.
