Global Trinidad and Tobago Celebrates Success of RVRB X 2025

RVRB X 2025

Port Of Spain, May 20, 2025 – Global Trinidad and Tobago proudly concludes the 2025 edition of the RVRB eXperience (RVRB X) – Artiste Development Workshop, marking yet another powerful stride in the professional advancement of Trinidad and Tobago’s music industry. Held on May 16–17, this two-day workshop brought together some of the country’s brightest talents and globally recognised professionals for a transformative experience in music business education, collaboration, and entrepreneurship.

RVRB X exceeded expectations by providing not just a workshop, but a launchpad for the next wave of music entrepreneurs, musicians, producers, performers and cultural exporters. Facilitators included industry giants such as Steve “Urchin” Wilson – Manager to Sean Paul, Dana Shayegan – Music Manager at Monk Music, and Michael “Tano” Montano – Producer for Kes and Coutain, who led engaging sessions on the evolving landscape of the global music business.

“This year’s RVRB X gave creatives the tools to own, protect, and monetise their music while building sustainable careers rooted in their unique artistry. I am thrilled to see that the participants braved the weather and really committed to this investment in their future, and based on immediate feedback, they’re on a high, rearing to go and already looking forward to RVRB X 2026 – that’s what we like to hear. We are here to support their journey. We are also happy to have had many of this year’s Youth Soca Champion finalists with us at the workshop, thanks to Jerome Precilla,” said Melissa Jimenez, General Manager of the Music Division at Global Trinidad and Tobago.

On Day 1 of the event, artistes were immersed in the essentials of intellectual property (IP) and music business fundamentals. Topics included split sheets, sync licensing, performance royalties, and navigating the legal frameworks that govern music ownership. Participants left with clear guidance on building their music catalogue as a viable asset, and a deeper understanding of how to collect their due royalties in global markets. Participants were challenged to distil their brand identity into a 30-second pitch. They confidently defined their sound, purpose, and audience. Facilitators emphasised the importance of brand consistency, digital reach, and understanding your audience’s behaviours and platforms.

While Day 1 was predominantly delivered in lecture mode, Day 2 was fully interactive and immersive, allowing for immediate practice and integration. The mission: craft a collaborative album from concept to campaign. Together, attendees explored themes, identified sound direction, designed content calendars, and outlined a marketing strategy with global potential. A fair scoring system was introduced to select songs for the album, encouraging inclusivity, excellence, and collaboration.

A moment that also stood out to the participants was when facilitator Tano built a beat live — an unforgettable demonstration of production mastery that left the room inspired and energised.

RVRB X concluded with a showcase where participants performed original works, receiving real-time feedback from the facilitators. The stage was the perfect platform for connection, opportunity, future collaborations and also offered extensive networking.

“RVRB X directly supports the creation of globally competitive creative businesses and new sources of export revenue for Trinidad and Tobago,” said Sekou Alleyne, CEO of Global Trinidad and Tobago. “It’s an investment in our future, our culture, and our creative economy.”
