Port of Spain, 3rd February 2021: In case you missed it, the Trinidad and Tobago Film Company (FilmTT) partnered with Eastern Credit Union (ECU) to host a free webinar, “Financing Your Future” in January highlighting the exclusive benefits deriving from the first-ever financial collaboration within the local film industry.
Over 100 industry professionals, consisting of Directors, Line Producers, Screenwriters/Scriptwriters, to name a few, registered for the webinar to find out what their financing options were with Eastern Credit Union. The registrants, some of who are currently in the developmental stages of industry projects, were overjoyed when ECU indicated their willingness to provide production companies with the financing of their Production Rebate. Those who viewed the webinar were also granted access to FilmTT’s Rebate Application Tutorial and exporTT’s Grant Tutorial.
The webinar and FilmTT’s efforts received glowing reviews: “This was an amazing day filled with very valuable information. FilmTT must continue with such endeavours so that we, the stakeholders, may know what opportunities are out there and how to access them. Partnering with the various potential stakeholders doesn’t only solidify FilmTT, it also creates an ecosystem for creators to access those stakeholders. Again, thank you for all of the time and work put into bringing off the event.”
“This event was shown to be timely and relevant to all audio/visual professionals as there are currently over 100 productions in various stages of production. The local film industry is resilient and as such FilmTT will continue to host capacity development sessions that add value to our workforce. If you haven’t viewed the webinar, we strongly suggest that you do so to get a better understanding of how you can build your business financially with help and guidance from FilmTT, exporTT and Eastern Credit Union.” – Leslie-Ann Wills-Caton, General Manager, FilmTT.
The webinar, which is currently hosted on YouTube and is available to the public, has views that continue to climb as more industry professionals are tuning in to educate themselves on the financial opportunities available to them as creatives.
