Port of Spain, 19th August 2020: The Trinidad & Tobago Fashion Company Limited (FashionTT) and DHL will be hosting an online webinar titled Realizing Your Global E-Commerce Potential on Thursday August 27th from 11 AM to 12 PM via the GoToMeeting platform.
At the webinar, participants will learn to:
- Understand customer buying habits
- Identify your opportunity with Cross Border e-commerce and how to get started
- Choose an Express service for fashion
- Build trust and brand loyalty with your customers during & after the COVID-19 pandemic
This webinar is the second event to be held since the inception of the partnership between DHL and FashionTT; the first being a stakeholder meeting for the designers of the Value Chain Investment Programme (VCIP) held in January, 2019. DHL representatives delivered a presentation on their courier service as well as how they can help VCIP designers to export their products to regional and foreign markets.
Since then, several designers have benefitted from the partnership. Due to the pandemic, online shopping has become an even more essential part of the fashion industry. Local designers require safe, efficient and affordable shipping rates to get their items to their customers, both regionally and internationally.
The FashionTT/DHL partnership has successfully aided local designers in various areas of export, including international shipping. Designers who have signed up with DHL have received significant savings in shipping cost and were able to fulfil international orders within an expeditious timeframe. Several designers have reported items being delivered to customers within two days.
Lisa-Marie Daniel of FashionTT remarked “Consumer behaviour is changing, and we must be able to change along with it. Partnering with DHL has created greater avenues for our designers to meet the needs of the international markets. We know the great potential our local designers have and we want to ensure that they gain the tools and knowledge they need to meet that potential through this online webinar.”
