MusicTT Appoints New General Manager
Port of Spain, 23rd August, 2018: The Trinidad and Tobago Music Company Limited (MusicTT) is happy to announce the appointment of its new general manager, Melissa Jimenez. Jimenez, who has been acting in the role since June, was made official earlier this month.
Melissa Jimenez is a creative consultant, Fulbright Scholar and founder of Artzy Bitz; an all-encompassing arts management hub providing related services. With her years of education and experience, she has launched music/creative sector business initiatives in both Trinidad and Chicago.
Jimenez graduated from Colombia College Chicago with a Master’s degree in Arts, Media and Entertainment Management. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Musical Arts from the University of the West Indies as well as Certificates in Events Management and Music (Steelpan). As a strong believer in lifelong learning, Jimenez continues to pursue other academic endeavors to enhance her skills in areas of interest to her.
Passionate about helping others, Jimenez has worked with Kids in Need of Direction (KIND) and the Volunteer Center of Trinidad and Tobago (VCTT), Must Come See Productions (MCSP), Launch Rockit and many other NGO's before being awarded a U.S. Fulbright Scholarship for graduate study. She was also the Chief Producer of a TechStars Startup Weekend (formally Google Startup Weekend) in Chicago and one of the lead organizers for the same event in Trinidad. She consulted for festivals like Eye on India and worked alongside the City of Chicago and Columbia College Chicago for 2017 festivals Wabash Arts Corridor and Big Walls

Jimenez believes that Trinidad and Tobago has the skill and talent to thrive in the international Orange Economy and is ready to lead the development of the industry as MusicTT's general manager.
