Love & Hip Hop Atlanta cast and crew “make a scene” at Hilton
Port of Spain, 1st March 2019: The Trinidad and Tobago Film Company Limited (FilmTT) hosted some members of the cast and executives of VH1’s popular reality TV show franchise, Love & Hip Hop Atlanta, at the Hilton Trinidad and Conference Centre, St. Ann’s for an intimate Carnival-themed reception to close the production and carefully-scheduled taping of the famous series in Trinidad during the Carnival 2019 season.
Love & Hip Hop Atlanta adds to the growing interest in Trinidad and Tobago as a location that offers much more than the standard Caribbean prototype of sun, sea and sand. With the help of US-based Trinidadian line producer, Sherrese Moise, the programme’s executive producers, Mona Scott-Young and Stephanie Gayle of Monami Entertainment, selected Trinidad and Tobago’s locations and its world-renowned brand of Carnival to be the exciting backdrop for two episodes of the show’s 8th season.
TV Personality, Karlie Redd, and Jamaican dancehall artist, Spice, both represented the celebrity cast at the reception. The production, some months in the making, is the latest to benefit from the collective commitment of FilmTT’s growing Film Friendly Network of agencies, Ministries and partners forging ahead on strategies to seed a thriving film industry in Trinidad and Tobago.
According to Nneka Luke, General Manager of FilmTT, “There are many details to cover behind the scenes to make a production like this a success. FilmTT continues to work on making Trinidad and Tobago’s film friendly for all local and international producers, and we would like to acknowledge the agencies who worked in such a committed manner alongside FilmTT: Airport Authority of Trinidad and Tobago, Chaguaramas Development Authority, City of Port of Spain, City of San Fernando, T&T Police Service, Customs and Excise Division, Immigration Division, Civil Aviation Authority, our sister company FashionTT, the Ministries of Trade and Industry and Tourism, and our most recent partner, the new Tourism Trinidad Limited.”
Love & Hip Hop Atlanta is one of VH1’s most popular shows running for over eight (8) years. The programme continues to trend in the US, European, African and Caribbean markets with billions in viewership. With two episodes scheduled to air in May/ June 2019, and with scenes shot at diverse locations all over the country, the show’s highly-engaged audience is set to see Trinidad and Tobago in a whole new light.
